Seniors:  Educaid awards a lucky high school senior with a “Gimme Five” ($5,000) scholarship toward their college or trade school expenses.  Seniors are eligible regardless of their GPA or financial need, so everyone is invited to enter to win!  So get online and look for official rules today at  They award seniors twelve times a year.

Arkansas Times 2008 Nurse Guide.  Please check out the issue of this online  by going to under “Guides”.  This is a great opportunity  for our juniors and seniors interested in nursing to receive this information.

National Commission for Cooperative Education  is offering several scholarships.  Check with your counselors office.  Deadline is Feb. 15th.

There is also a session called “MAN UP” on January 22, 2009 at 5:30 for men interested in the field of nursing

SENIORS – There is a new science scholarship program at UALR.  There will be (18) scholarships  at $10,000 per year for four years of schooling.  This can be added to Pell Grant awards.   Information is available on the website (


10th,11th, and 12th grade Girls Only -  This is a great opportunity for our young ladies at Fair to participate.  The Program is called 2009 Young Woman’s Political Leadership Retreat.  The cost of the program is entirely free of charge and travel scholarships are available.  Running Start encourages high school girls to channel their leadership skills into politics. SENIORS – United States Department of Transportation will sponsor  the 2009 Summer Transportation Internship Program for Diverse Groups.  The period is from May 27th – August 8th.  You must have been accepted into a college or university for the fall  of 2009 .  Information is available in the guidance office

United States Secret Service  is a federal law enforcement agency with headquarters in Washington, D.C.   The Secret Service Student Temporary Education Employee Program   gives students an opportunity to earn money and continue or resume their education at the same time.  More information is available go to http:/
